Blog Post #5: Week 9, A Week of Challenges & Perseverance

Henry Miller

Week 9:

Week 9 proved to be a true test of resilience for our dedicated group. While we had been making steady progress in our project, a series of unexpected events threatened to derail our momentum.

The week began with a significant setback when our classmate, Henry, was arrested during a protest on the perimeter of our campus. As an advocate for important causes, Henry's commitment to his beliefs is admirable and we, as a class, came together to collectively discuss his actions through Zoom in the following two weeks, since he was barred from coming onto Cal Poly property.

Unfortunately, the obstacles did not end there. With exams looming, our already limited time was further constrained. Balancing academic responsibilities with our project's demands became an intricate juggling act, testing our time management skills and dedication.

Nevertheless, we persisted, finding pockets of time to collaborate, discuss ideas, and make incremental progress. While our pace may have slowed during this particular week, our resolve remained unshaken.

In the face of adversity, our group demonstrated remarkable resilience. We supported one another, shared the workload, and remained focused on our ultimate goal.

As we reflect on Week 9, we realize that challenges are inevitable when embarking on ambitious endeavors. However, it is how we respond to those challenges that truly defines us. Our group's ability to adapt, persevere, and support one another through trying times is a testament to our commitment. This week may have presented us with hurdles, but it also reinforced our determination and solidified our bond as a team.
